LAB – FACILITIES
The Kang Lab is located at the top floor of the Supple Science Building overlooking the campus.
Campus view from Dr. Kang’s office
The main lab area is located in Rooms 439 and 437. Dr. Kang has dedicated Room 435 to be a teaching lab as well as a conference area.
Main-LAB (Supp 439 and 437) Entrance and Deep-freezer
The research program in the lab is heavily reliant on biochemical and molecular biological approaches with genetically modified plants. Here are some facilities used on an everyday basis in the lab (shared facilities are not listed; unless noted otherwise, all the facilities are located in the main lab area).
Diagenode Bioruptor Pico
Agilent Bioanalyzer (Supple 374)
Illumina MiSeq Sequencer (Supple 288)
Realtime PCR Machine
Plant Germination Room and Growth Chamber – 1st floor
Molecular Work Room
Plant Manipulation Table
Dedicated Cold Room
MiliQ Water System
Gel Running Area
Plant Maturation and Harvest Room – 2nd floor
Radioactive Work Area
Gel Documentation System
