Postdoctoral Researcher in Molecular Plant-Microbe Interactions

A postdoctoral position is available in the Kang Lab at Texas State University for a researcher to join a multidisciplinary team investigating the molecular mechanisms by which small RNAs (sRNAs) regulate plant immunity. The successful candidate will focus on stress-responsive genomics and transcriptomics, as well as imaging-based validation of sRNA mobility under biotic stress conditions in plants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Investigate transcriptomic, epigenomic, and genomic responses to biotic stress
  • Mentor graduate and undergraduate students
  • Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Plant Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field
  • Strong background in plant genomics and bioinformatics
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong publication record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with R, Python, or similar tools for data analysis
  • Familiarity with plant responses to biotic stress

Application Instructions

  • To apply, please submit your curriculum vitae and the contact information for three references via email to Dr. Hong-Gu Kang at kang@txstate.edu.
